Meet Our Team

For more than 25 years, Vernessa Hopkins has prided herself on developing a successful corporate career, which has helped lead her into her entrepreneurial journey with Tutor Doctor.

Vernessa’s career started as a customer service representative and progressed over the years to Vice President of Operations for Prudential Insurance, a Fortune 500 insurance company. Her ability to motivate led her to provide mentorship and create strong leaders within the organization’s Business Resource Group.

She is on the Executive committee and currently a board member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County.

Vernessa has a master’s in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University, and her BA in Marketing from Temple University located in Philadelphia, PA.

Samantha Sherman has over 12 years of experience as a pet and veterinary industry expert. Starting at 16, she quickly grew into a well-known pet sitter and dog walker in the Princeton, NJ area, helping clients while studying in both high school and college.

After graduating a semester early from business school, Samantha moved to PA to work full-time in a veterinary hospital as a technician and then a practice manager. Needing an outlet for her passion in education, she became a tutor with Tutor Doctor focusing on math, language arts, and advanced science courses. In July of 2024, she was promoted to Office Manager and Education Coordinator and now helps manage the day-to-day operations of the franchise full-time. She is also a substitute teacher in 3 PA school districts and a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County.

Samantha holds a master’s in Business Administration from Delaware Valley University located in Doylestown, PA. She also obtained a BS in Small Animal Science from the same school.
